Terms of Service

SnapConvert is a free, browser-based tool for converting and compressing image files (PNG, JPG, WebP, and SVG) between formats. The Service is offered as-is for personal and commercial use, at no cost.

SnapConvert performs every conversion and compression operation locally in your web browser using the HTML5 Canvas API and JavaScript. At no point is an image, file, or any part of its contents transmitted to, uploaded to, or stored on our servers or any third-party server we control. We do not have a backend that receives your files — there is nothing on our infrastructure capable of seeing them. Processing happens entirely on your own device, using your own browser's resources.

You retain full and exclusive ownership of any files you upload to, convert with, or download from SnapConvert. Because we never receive or store your files, we make no claim of any kind — ownership, license, or otherwise — to their content. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights to any image you process through the Service.

SnapConvert is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or produce output of any particular quality. Image conversion and compression involve inherent trade-offs (e.g., lossy compression may reduce visual quality); you are responsible for reviewing converted output before relying on it.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SnapConvert and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of files, or loss of business, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Because processing happens entirely on your device, we strongly recommend keeping your own backups of original files before conversion.

You agree not to use SnapConvert to:

• Process, convert, or attempt to convert content that is illegal in your jurisdiction;
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or overwhelm the Service or its hosting infrastructure; or
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation in connection with the Service.

SnapConvert is supported by third-party display advertising (such as Google AdSense), which allows us to keep the Service free. See our Privacy Policy for details on how advertising partners use cookies.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We'll update the "Last updated" date above whenever we do.
